Ask us your questions about business in Asia via Skype, Twitter, Facebook or Email
One of the key goals of Asian Business Radio is to educate people about the different markets, practices and indeed issues they may very well be faced with when doing business in Asia. However, there is only so much we can conceive that you (our listeners) want or need to know about. That is why we have created a variety of channels through which you can ask your questions about Asian business, including Skype, Twitter, Facebook and Email.
Skype
Skype is one of the world's most popular VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) and IM (Instant Messaging) programs. Skype allows you to make calls to other Skype users for free and international cals to regular phones and mobiles for a fraction of the cost that a regular phone carrier would charge you.
We have created a special Skype account with the ID AsianBusinessRadio, which you can call via Skype for free. When you call it, you will be redirected to our voicemail where you can record your question. We'll then do our best to find someone to answer that question and to have it played back on one of our shows.
When you call, please leave your name, location and your question. Do feel free to go into some detail about your situation or industry, but please be aware that we cannot address questions that are too specific and really need to be addressed by a professional in that field.
Twitter is a micro-blogging platform which enables people to broadcast short 140 character messages about what they are doing, a thought they are having or a link to a website they like etc. In order to receive updates from individuals into your "Tweetstream", you need to sign-up for a free account. then visit the pages of the people you're interested in and click the "Follow" button below their photo. There are an increasing number of celebrities on Twitter which you can follow, including: Barack Obama, Stephen Fry, Britney Spears and John Cleese.
You can also "follow" a few websites and media companies on Twitter who can broadcast their latest stories into your Tweetstream. A few that may interest you include: CNN Breaking News, The New York Times and NPR News.
So how are we using it? If you follow us on Twitter, you will receive notification every time we post a new episode or write a new blog post or have some other big news. If you do see our show "Tweets" in your Tweetstream, please do "Retweet" them in yours, to help us grow. If your business question is very short, you can of course tweet it to us, by starting your message "@AsianBusiness [Question text]". You can also follow my personal Tweets here.
Facebook is one of the fastest growing social networking platforms in the world. After joining, you create a profile that include photos of yourself, details on your hobbies, life and business. Chances are there will be other people you know on Facebook, so you can do a search for them on there too and then add them as friends. You will then be able to see updates to their profile (new photos etc.), send each other messages or learn more about their interests (such as what books they are reading.
We've created a special type of group on Facebook for Asian Business Radio called a fan page. If you join this group (it's technically called a page and you become a "Fan" of it), you will receive notification in your Facebook feed when we publish new episodes. You can also use it to leave us your questions on the discussion board under the topic "Questions for future shows".
Yes that's right, we haven't abandoned one of the oldest forms of contact since the Internet began - you can email us your questions! You can do so either by using the form on our Contact Us page or send us an email directly to contact@asianbusinessmedia.com
We look forward to your questions and doing our best to have them answered by professionals in that field.
